In the annals of legend, Egypt stands as the cradle of civilization, a land where divine beings walked among mortals, bestowing their favor and shaping the very fabric of existence. At the heart of this hallowed realm was Osiris, the benevolent son of Ra, who ruled with wisdom and grace. Yet, his dominion was shadowed by the simmering resentment of his brother, Set, who was banished to the desolate desert, his heart consumed by envy. The time was nigh for a new era, one where Horus, the rightful heir and son of Osiris, was destined to ascend to the throne.
Our journey into this epic saga begins not in the halls of the gods, but in the bustling marketplace of a vibrant Egyptian city. Here, a young mortal man named Bek, driven by love for his beloved Zaya, impulsively pilfers a dress from a vendor. Their shared anticipation for the day's grand event – the coronation of Horus – is palpable. Meanwhile, in the celestial sphere, Horus, the god-in-waiting, finds himself recovering from a night of divine revelry. His solace is found in the embrace of Hathor, the radiant goddess of love, his devoted companion.
As the hour of the coronation arrives, the city converges, a sea of faces eager to witness the transfer of power. Osiris and his queen, Isis, present their son, ready to bestow the mantle of leadership. However, the solemn ceremony is dramatically interrupted by the arrival of Set, bearing a seemingly innocuous gift: a battle horn. With a blast from this instrument, Set unleashes his formidable army, revealing his treacherous intent. A coup is underway. Set demands a duel with his brother, a challenge Osiris refuses. In a swift, brutal act, Set plunges a dagger into Osiris, whose lifeblood, a shimmering gold, spills onto the sacred ground as he succumbs.
Enraged by his father's murder, Horus transforms into his majestic winged divine form, while Set retaliates by morphing into his fearsome, dog-like visage. Their battle rages before the horrified eyes of gods and mortals alike. Though Horus fights with the fury of a wronged son, Set gains the upper hand. It is Hathor, in an act of profound sacrifice, who kneels before Set, her plea granting Horus a reprieve from death. Set, now the undisputed ruler, demands universal submission, and in a cruel display of power, plucks out both of Horus's all-seeing eyes, plunging the land into darkness.
A year has passed, and Egypt groans under Set's tyrannical reign. Those who refuse to bend the knee face either death or enslavement. Zaya, Bek's beloved, has fallen into the latter fate, her spirit tested daily by her cruel master, Urshu, who serves Set by constructing monuments in the usurper's honor. Zaya, clinging to hope, confides in Bek that only Horus can liberate them, but his power is diminished without his stolen eyes, which are locked away in Set's impenetrable vaults.
Driven by unwavering devotion, Bek embarks on a perilous solo mission. He infiltrates one of Set's heavily guarded vaults, navigating a treacherous path fraught with three booby-trapped bridges. Though he successfully overcomes these obstacles, he finds only one of Horus's eyes. Yet, even this single recovered orb radiates a potent light, powerful enough to repel the scorpions that lurk below.
Armed with this fragment of divine power, Bek returns to Urshu's estate, determined to rescue Zaya. However, Urshu and his guards are waiting, anticipating his arrival. Bek unleashes the blinding light of the recovered eye, creating a momentary diversion that allows him and Zaya to escape. Tragically, their freedom is short-lived. As they flee, Urshu's arrow finds its mark, striking Zaya. With her dying breath, she professes her eternal love for Bek, assuring him that death cannot sever their bond. Her life ebbs away, leaving Bek devastated.
Bek, carrying the weight of his loss, seeks out the disgraced god Horus, who now lives in squalor, a shadow of his former glory. Bek implores Horus for assistance, but the god remains indifferent until Bek reveals the recovered eye. A brief, tense confrontation ensues, which Bek de-escalates by offering a deal: he will retrieve Horus's other eye if the god agrees to help him bring Zaya back to life. Horus, despite knowing the impossibility of such a resurrection, makes a promise. For now, he summons Anubis, the god of the afterlife, to guide Zaya's soul, but Bek must intercept her before she reaches the final gate.
Meanwhile, Set discovers the breach in his vault. He travels to Horus's desolate dwelling and uncovers Zaya's body, immediately understanding the unfolding events. In a further act of cruelty, Set dispatches his forces to attack Nephthys, Horus's estranged wife, brutally striking her down and severing her wings.
Horus, guided by Bek, ascends to the pinnacle of a pyramid, where they pray to Ra, Horus's grandfather. Ra answers their plea, granting Horus the ability to transform into his divine form. Together, they ascend to Ra's celestial abode, situated near the sun, where the primordial god is locked in an eternal battle with Apep, the serpent god of chaos, who manifests as a colossal, inky cloud. Horus seeks Ra's aid in defeating Set. Ra bestows upon Horus a sacred water from the Nile, imbued with the power to quench the desert's thirst and diminish Set's dominion.
Hathor, now a captive and slave to Set, makes a pivotal decision to defy her tormentor. She removes her protective bracelet, which wards off malevolent spirits, plunging herself into their realm. Only by replacing it does she regain her sanctuary and escape Set's clutches, finding herself transported to a distant, unknown location.
Horus and Bek find themselves traversing the harsh desert, pursued by Set's formidable hunters, Astarte and Atat, who ride colossal, fire-breathing serpents. In a desperate chase, Horus cleverly traps Atat on her serpent, sending them both plummeting to their deaths over a precipice. Hathor arrives just in time to confront Astarte, commanding her serpent to engulf itself in flames, a fiery demise for both the hunter and her mount.
The trio continues their journey, their path leading them to the riddle of the Sphinx, a guardian of the vault containing Horus's second eye. Their quest takes them to the temple of Thoth, the god of wisdom. Before entering, Hathor attempts to command Bek to fetch her water, but her divine influence fails him, his heart still tethered to Zaya. He shares his story, and Hathor, moved by his devotion, uses her abilities to contact Zaya in the afterlife, assuring her that Bek is striving to reunite them.
Thoth, despite his vast intellect, is notoriously vain, employing numerous doppelgangers to perform his duties. Bek, recognizing this flaw, appeals to Thoth's ego, securing his assistance. Thoth joins Horus and Bek, and together they face the Sphinx. The Sphinx poses its riddle, and Thoth, initially relying on his divine knowledge, offers incorrect answers. He then shifts his perspective, thinking as a mortal, and finally arrives at the correct solution. As the heroes retrieve the eye, and Bek prepares to unleash the sacred water to weaken Set, the usurper himself appears. Set seizes Thoth's brain, mocking Bek's hope of resurrecting Zaya and then proceeds to spill the precious water, nullifying its power.
Set then confronts his father, Ra, at his celestial home, railing against his predetermined destiny and Ra's refusal to grant him children. Ra explains that this was a test, a trial Set has yet to pass, intended to prepare him for his true duty: battling Apep. Instead, Set duels his father, seizing Ra's spear and impaling him. He casts Ra over the edge of his domain, thereby unleashing Apep, who begins to wreak havoc across Egypt.
Hathor bestows her bracelet upon Bek, urging him to give it to Zaya as a final offering before she enters the afterlife. Hathor is then pulled away by the encroaching evil spirits. Anubis guides Bek to Zaya, allowing him to present the amulet. However, Apep's arrival seals the gates to the afterlife. Bek returns to the mortal realm, reuniting with a remorseful Horus, who admits to his broken promise. Meanwhile, Set's armor is augmented with Nephthys' wings, Thoth's brain, Horus's eye, and Ra's spear. He then summons Apep to his side.
Horus, transforming once more into his falcon form, engages Set in a titanic battle atop the pyramid. Bek finds himself cornered by Urshu. After a brief struggle, Bek manages to push Urshu to his death. In the ensuing chaos, Bek manages to pry Horus's eye from Set's armor, sustaining a mortal wound in the process. He tosses the eye to Horus, but the god prioritizes saving Bek, catching him as he falls from the pyramid. Horus carries Bek to safety before returning to the fray, ultimately weakening his uncle. Seizing Ra's spear, Horus impales Set, vanquishing him permanently. He then retrieves Ra and returns the spear, enabling the sun god to once again hold Apep at bay.
A young village girl returns Horus's eye to him, and the liberated people of Egypt erupt in cheers. Horus then finds Bek, who is moments from death. He carries his body back to his home, laying him beside Zaya. Ra appears, expressing his gratitude to Horus and acknowledging a debt owed. Horus, seeking what cannot be given, is understood by Ra, who uses his divine power to resurrect both Bek and Zaya. They awaken, their reunion sealed with a kiss.
Horus is then formally crowned King of Egypt, while Thoth and Nephthys are also restored to life. Horus, donning Hathor's bracelet, resolves to rescue her. He entrusts the kingdom to Bek, now his trusted advisor, ensuring Egypt's future is in capable hands.
