Get ready for an epic showdown as the Demon Slayer Corps plunges headfirst into the treacherous Infinity Castle in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle. This animated action-fantasy film, released on July 18, 2025, brings us the thrilling continuation of Tanjiro Kamado's fight against the forces of evil. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki and produced by animation powerhouse ufotable, alongside Aniplex and Shueisha, this 2-hour and 36-minute spectacle boasts a solid 7.6 rating on TMDB, promising a gripping experience for fans.

The story kicks off with the elite Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, a formidable group of warriors, joining forces with our familiar heroes: Tanjiro Kamado (voiced by Zach Aguilar), his demon sister Nezuko (Abby Trott), the easily frightened but surprisingly capable Zenitsu Agatsuma (Aleks Le), and the wild boar-headed Inosuke Hashibira (Bryce Papenbrook). Alongside them stand the powerful Hashira: the passionate Mitsuri Kanroji (Kira Buckland), the serene Shinobu Kocho (Erika Harlacher), the aloof Muichiro Tokito (Griffin Burns), the gentle giant Gyomei Himejima (Crispin Freeman), the enigmatic Obanai Iguro (Erik Scott Kimerer), the stoic Giyu Tomioka (Johnny Yong Bosch), and the Shinazugawa brothers, Genya (Zeno Robinson) and Sanemi (Kaiji Tang). Their ultimate target? The demon king himself, Muzan Kibutsuji (Greg Chun).

After rigorous training and dispatching several high-ranking demons, the stage is set for a confrontation of monumental proportions. Muzan, driven by his desire to absorb Nezuko due to her newfound immunity to sunlight, makes a dramatic appearance at the Ubuyashiki Mansion. He faces Master Kagaya (Matthew Mercer), the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, in a tense encounter. Tragically, Muzan’s assault results in the deaths of Kagaya and his wife, Amane. Just as the united Hashira prepare to strike a decisive blow, Muzan unleashes his ultimate defense: he teleports them all, with the exception of Nezuko, into the labyrinthine Infinity Castle. This multidimensional hideout, filled with shifting floors and countless doorways, serves as Muzan's ultimate trap, designed to isolate and destroy the Demon Slayers.

The film opens a few days prior to Muzan's devastating attack. We see Gyomei Himejima in a somber meeting with the ailing Master Kagaya. Kagaya, aware of Muzan's immense power, imparts a grave warning to Gyomei: beheading might not be enough to defeat the demon king. He stresses the critical need for the Hashira to battle Muzan until the sun rises, a race against time that underscores the perilous nature of their mission.

Once inside the bewildering Infinity Castle, the Demon Slayers find themselves separated, their efforts hampered by Muzan’s forces who manipulate the castle's very structure. Despite the chaos, bonds are strengthened. Obanai and Mitsuri find solace and mutual defense in each other's presence. Gyomei and Muichiro, united in their grief over Kagaya’s loss, find renewed determination to obliterate Muzan. Inosuke, ever the boisterous warrior, lands amidst a skirmish and lends his strength to Sanemi as they take on a group of demons. Meanwhile, Tanjiro and Giyu find themselves in dire straits, only to save each other from certain doom, highlighting their growing synergy.

A particularly harrowing encounter unfolds as Shinobu Kocho enters a chamber where the Upper Rank 2 Demon, Doma (Stephen Fu), is reveling in his gruesome feast. Shinobu recognizes Doma as the demon responsible for the death of her sister, Kanae, who had described him as a pale demon wielding two sharp fans. Driven by vengeance, Shinobu strikes, infecting Doma’s eye with a potent poison of her own creation. However, Doma’s resilience is terrifying; he develops an immunity with each blow Shinobu lands. Despite Doma’s chilling praise for her speed, he retaliates with a devastating slash across her body.

The narrative then offers a poignant glimpse into Doma’s past. As a child, his pale hair and rainbow eyes led his parents to believe he was divinely blessed, prompting them to establish a cult around him called the Eternal Paradise Faith. Witnessing the blind worship and deification he received, Doma grew cynical, realizing the hollowness of the promised "paradise" beyond death.

In her weakened state, Shinobu experiences a vision of her sister Kanae, who encourages her to persevere. With her last breaths, Shinobu unleashes a final barrage of strikes against Doma. However, he traps her and brutally squeezes her to death. Kanao Tsuyuri (Shinobu’s protégé, also transported to the castle) arrives just in time to witness Doma absorbing Shinobu’s lifeless body. The Kasugai crows, the messengers of the Demon Slayer Corps, fly throughout the castle, announcing Shinobu’s death, a somber message that deeply affects Tanjiro.

Meanwhile, Zenitsu Agatsuma faces his own terrifying adversary: Upper Rank 6 Demon Kaigaku (Alejandro Saab). Kaigaku, a former fellow student under their shared mentor, "Gramps," harbors a deep-seated hatred for Zenitsu, viewing him as weaker and believing Gramps favored him more. Zenitsu’s animosity stems from Kaigaku’s transformation into a demon under Upper Rank 1 Kokushibo, which led to Gramps’ agonizing seppuku without anyone to grant him a merciful beheading. Kaigaku nearly defeats Zenitsu as they plummet into the castle's depths. However, Zenitsu recalls a self-taught Thunder Breathing technique, which he uses to finally decapitate Kaigaku. As they continue to fall, Kaigaku taunts Zenitsu until the demon ally Yushiro intervenes, rescuing Zenitsu while Kaigaku fades into oblivion. In a brief, emotional journey into the afterlife, Zenitsu sees Gramps, who expresses his pride in Zenitsu, bringing him a sense of peace.

Zenitsu is left unconscious, having been infected by one of Kaigaku’s attacks. The remaining Demon Slayer Corps members valiantly fight against overwhelming demon hordes. Elsewhere, Kagaya and Amane’s children, Kiriya, Kuina, and Kanata, work with Yushiro to map the castle's intricate layout, while former Hashira Tengen Uzui and Shinjuro Rengoku stand guard. Outside the castle, Nezuko is kept in a drugged state by Sakonji Urokodaki, who is attempting to restore her humanity. Sakonji understands that Nezuko’s return to human form would shatter Muzan’s plans, and the gravity of this being the final battle weighs heavily on everyone. Muzan himself is depicted hidden within a blood cocoon, absorbing the demon ally Tamayo, as his power continues to grow.

The narrative then shifts to the intense battle between Tanjiro and Giyu and the formidable Akaza (Lucien Dodge), the demon who tragically killed Kyojuro Rengoku. Fueled by a burning desire for vengeance, Tanjiro confronts Akaza. He and Giyu manage to inflict some damage, severing limbs, but Akaza’s rapid regeneration and blinding speed make him an incredibly difficult opponent. Akaza taunts Tanjiro for his perceived weakness, but he is momentarily disturbed by the spirit of a kind man named Keizo (Channing Tatum). As the fierce battle rages on, Giyu achieves his demon mark, mirroring Tanjiro’s power-up, and gains an advantage.

Akaza’s snowflake-shaped Compass Needle allows him to expertly dodge their attacks. Tanjiro, desperately seeking a way to defeat him, recalls a memory of his father, Tanjuro, teaching him the Hinokami Kagura (Fire Breathing) technique, demonstrated when he helped Tanjiro behead a massive bear. He also remembers Inosuke’s ability to sense attacks. Just as Akaza is about to deliver a fatal blow to Giyu, Tanjiro unleashes a swift strike, severing Akaza’s hand. He enters the Transparent World and the Selfless State, a state of heightened perception and pure instinct, giving him the crucial upper hand to decapitate the demon.

Akaza is left stunned by Tanjiro’s unexpected attack and mocks him for passing out from exhaustion. Despite missing his head, the demon continues to lash out at Giyu. Suddenly, Akaza is overwhelmed by memories of his human life. He was once Hakuji, a street urchin who resorted to pickpocketing to help his ailing father. His constant troubles led to his father’s suicide. Later, Hakuji was taken in by Keizo, who became a father figure and mentor. Hakuji cared for Keizo’s sick daughter, Koyuki (Rebecca Wang), and over time, their relationship blossomed into love, culminating in an engagement. Tragically, Keizo and Koyuki were poisoned by a rival dojo. In a fit of rage, Hakuji murdered dozens of the dojo’s students before Muzan turned him into a demon.

Akaza attempts to regenerate his head and resume the fight, but he is ultimately overpowered by the memories of his father, Keizo, and Koyuki. He accepts his fate, believing he is destined for Hell where he cannot reunite with them. A poignant memory of Koyuki touches him deeply, causing him to revert to his human form as Hakuji. In his final moments, he uses his annihilation attack to destroy his own body, embracing his destiny.

With Akaza defeated, Tanjiro and Giyu both collapse from exhaustion. Kokushibo and Doma sense Akaza’s demise and the advancing Demon Slayers. Kanao prepares to face Doma, seeking to avenge Shinobu. Genya continues his search for Sanemi. Nakime, the biwa demon, uses her powers to further expand the Infinity Castle, sowing confusion among the Ubuyashikis. Gyomei, Muichiro, Obanai, and Mitsuri continue their arduous battles against Muzan’s forces. Muzan, meanwhile, remains hidden within his expanding blood cocoon, taunting the Demon Slayers and confident that they will never find him. The final battle for humanity has truly begun.
